Insurance Claims — common questions

Do I have to use the repairer my insurer recommends?

In most cases, no. Check your policy: unless you chose a 'preferred repairer only' policy at a discount, you can usually nominate your own licensed repairer in WA. Tell your insurer you're nominating Swan City Smash Repairs in Bellevue and we'll take it from there.

What do I need before contacting you about a claim?

Just your details and photos of the damage. A claim number helps but isn't required — we can guide you through lodging the claim if you haven't yet.

Who pays my excess and when?

Your excess is set by your policy and is usually paid when repairs are completed. If you're not at fault and can identify the other driver, you generally won't pay an excess — ask us and we'll explain how it applies to your claim.

Will you keep me updated during the repair?

Yes. You'll get a clear timeframe when the job is booked and we'll contact you if anything changes once we're into the repair.
